The state of Nevada criminalizes the malicious destruction of legal notices or other official notices in Nevada Revised Statute section 199.470. The relevant statute makes it a crime to willfully and maliciously remove, damage, or destroy certain types of notices.
Under N.R.S. 199.470, it is illegal to destroy a sign or a notice that was erected or posted by any officer who had lawful authority to post that sign or notice. It is also illegal to destroy any sign or notice that was erected or posted by the owner or the occupier of the premise where the sign or notice was posted.
N.R.S. also makes it unlawful to willfully and maliciously remove, damage or destroy any type of legal notice or any legal paper that is posted in compliance with the requirements of any statute in the state of Nevada or that is posted under the direction of a court order that commanded the notice or paper to be posted.
