Medical examiners identified a 72-year-old man as the victim of an attack that took place last week in a west Las Vegas parking lot.
As of Tuesday, the Clark County Coroner’s Office has not yet ruled a cause and manner of death for James Northcott, of Surrey, B.C. in Canada.
Northcutt was the person who succumbed to injuries after an attack that happened about 3 p.m. Sept. 23 in the parking lot of the Walmart store at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Arville Street.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, the victim was traveling through the parking lot when he was involved in an argument with another driver. The second driver got out of his vehicle, attacked the victim and then left the scene.
The victim was eventually taken to Spring Valley Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead Monday, police said.
On Tuesday, police released surveillance video of two people seen exiting the Walmart, who are believed to be connected to the attack.
The first person was described as a black man in his 20s, about 5’10” tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, a white T-shirt, blue shorts, white socks and blue Nike sandals.
The second person was described a short woman, who was last seen wearing a black shirt and denim shorts.
The pair was last seen driving a 2003 to 2006-model, silver, four-door Hyundai Elantra with stock rims.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
