At around 10:30 AM on September 3rd, Las Vegas police were called out to a residence in Bronze Circle. Once they arrived, police discovered 69-year-old Jeff German fatally stabbed in what appears to be an “isolated incident.”
Jeff German has been a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal for over 40 years. An autopsy confirmed that he passed away as a result of multiple stab wounds.
Authorities believe German and another person got into an altercation outside of the victim’s home prior to the stabbing. Las Vegas police released images on Tuesday of what they believe to be the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect is believed to be driving a 2007-2014 red GMC Yukon Denali. Authorities further specified that the vehicle has chrome handles, a luggage rack, and a sunroof.
On Monday, police also released footage that appears to show the suspect walking down a sidewalk. The individual, who has not been identified as a male or female yet, was wearing an orange long-sleeve shirt with reflective strips, regular blue jeans, and gray shoes. Authorities further stated that the suspect was carrying a shoulder bag and wearing a wide straw hat.
Police have not yet confirmed whether this recent stabbing has anything to do with the string of burglaries in the neighborhood.
Anyone with information regarding the recent crime should contact Metro police at (702)-828-7777.
In the crime described above, the suspect clearly murdered the victim. In Las Vegas, first-degree murder is defined a s premeditated killing, whereas second-degree murder is defined as an unintentional killing that happens as a result of recklessness or carelessness. While the suspect has not yet been identified or charged with a crime, there’s a great chance that they will fact first-degree murder charges, which is a felony offense.
As you can imagine, this crime carries the most hefty consequences. If convicted, then expect to spend a life sentence in jail.
If the stabbing had occurred and the victim had not passed away, then the charges levied would likely be attempted murder. This very serious crime could result in 2-20 years in state prison. It could also result in a probation term, significant fines, and life-long consequences. Any felony conviction will continue to cause problems for you once you serve out your sentence. You’ll lose specific rights and face difficulty finding employment.
