Woman Arrested in Attempt to Shoot Boyfriend

A 41 year old woman has been arrested after attempting to shoot her boyfriend. Arrested overnight, As per information provided by the Metro Police, Renee Coughlin is believed to pointed a shotgun at her boyfriend and barricading herself at a residence in the eastern part of the Las Vegas Valley.

Reports reveal that Coughlin pointed a gun at her boyfriend and then pulled the trigger at approximately 6:15 pm. This was in the midst of an argument at their home in the 1400 block of Palm Street, near East Charleston Boulevard and South Mojave Road.

The gun did not fire however and the intended victim survived and called the police after leaving the residence as reported by Officer Michael Rodriguez. Coughlin barricaded herself i the home and both the SWAT and crisis negotiators had to report to the scene to help resolve the situation. She was taken into custody around 12:10 am and booked into the Clark County jail on charges of domestic violence-related assault with a deadly weapon.

According to jail records, Coughlin is being held on a $5000 bail.
